Add Things To Your Sidebar

Everything in your blog sidebar is in a widget.

A widget is like a little sidebar building block. And you can add as many as you like.

Here’s how:

1. Log in to your admin area

2. Hover over Appearance and click Widgets

3. You will now see something on the right side of the screen that looks something like this -

Add and Edit Sidebar Widgets Wordpress4. Click the down arrow on ‘Sidebar’ as shown in the pic above.

5. Now look for the kind of widget you want on the left. If you wish to add text, a link, html, or an image, choose a Text Widget.

6. Drag it into place in ‘Sidebar’ box like this:

Sidebar Text Widget7. When you let go to drop it into place, it will pop open. You can now add your title and text, or image, etc

8. When you’re done filling the widget, press Save then Close. It will slide closed, and your new widget is now being displayed on your blog.

Go to your blog in a new tab or window to take a look. If you don’t see it there try clicking on your browser Refresh button while holding down the Shift [up arrow] key on your keyboard.
